Wednesday Sept 15th- We will run down to the trailhead parking lot on Parker Road. The parking lot is next to the daycare (Imagination Plus). The big church is on the east side of Parker Road. We would like for parents to pick them up there at 5pm instead of at school. Kids who drive or ride bikes can meet us there. The coaches will bring backpacks to the workout. See your email for more info (or better yet, ask the kids- they should be able to tell you). Email if you have questions about the schedule.

No Saturday Practice on 9/18 (run easy on Sat or Sun on your own)

Tuesday Sept

Sept 9th- Centaurus Invite this week! Check the Schedule 2010 link for directions

and meet info. All of our runners will run. The first race is at 9:30am. We will have

a ONE way bus. If kids need a ride, let us know. The drive is about an hour

and the course is at the lake north of the school.

Spirit pack items and car decal orders are due this weekend. See the link on

our home page.

Check back later in the week for SPIRIT PACK items. These will be available online, via our link to Denver Athletics. The link should be up by Sept 1st (I hope). Our kids will be able to get some CC items. We will have a pack for a shirt, hoody, and bag for $50 or very close to it. We also have stocking hats available.

We will also have some 'really cool' car decals.

All of this will be available this week.

I will also update who is running this weekend. I'm trying to keep up to date as best as possible!

PS: I hope all of our kids are doing the best they can to be well rested and healthy. This is a time for colds, sniffles, allegies, and sickness. Please help nag them to take care of themselves!!

Letter Winner It is even more difficult to keep things challenging, yet fair in our very first year. With upper classmen and more runners, it usually comes down to varsity and maybe a few others who run varsity times. For this year, I awarded varsity points if the runner finished in the top half of all runners who ran in the "varsity race". Sometimes, this was a big 5a race and other times it was the Freshman / Sophomore race (or even a 3A race, which is where we are right now!). The final meets of the year have a lot to due with earning the letter. Those who did not meet the lettering standard, often have been the best practice runners, and have every chance to improve to letter the next year. There is no set number of letters....but it is mainly a varsity level runner. I challenge all of you to earn this next year when we have over 30 runners!

With that in mind...congratulations to the following for "earning" the first Letter in Cross Country at LHS. The "LT" is special and represents all that you have achieved this year.

Jersey and Shorts

Warm-up jacket and pants

Any fee's that need paid or fundraising money due.

You own a long sleeve shirt and blue t-shirt as well as the Hoodies and sweat pants! Those are

yours to keep. I will have extra's sorted out if you wish to puchase these as well.

Denver Marathon - Sunday October19th -

Cross Country Volunteer Team- Cara, Lauren, Ericka, Abby, Tyler, Ryan, Austin V, Matt T all

worked the 2 mile mark at the 2008 Denver Marathon. Great team work and some volunteer hours. As a Runner's Roost worker said..."You guys Rock!"
